Monday, October 4th, 2021, Calgary, AB - Farkas pledges to champion train connection between downtown and the Calgary International Airport

“I am committed to championing a train connection between our downtown and the airport airport. Calgary is a world class city, but without this vital link we are risking being left behind,” said Jeromy.

“As a world-class city, we need to build for the future. Completing this vital link will result in increased conventions, event offerings, and tourist travel. It will also show the world that we are open for business. We can’t have national festivals and international conventions look past us to host these events, simply because we don’t have the transportation options other cities do,” Jeromy continued.

There are viable options to build a transit line to the airport.

Calgary could consider an extension to the Blue Line LRT link, which would also provide long-overdue transit relief for Northeast Calgary.

Another option is to climb aboard the rapidly advancing proposal for a Calgary-Banff passenger train line through a public-private partnership.
