Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2021, Calgary, AB – Farkas pledges to Protect Our Parks

Mayoral Candidate Jeromy Farkas continues to roll out his 10-point campaign platform, today with a pledge to protect our city parks and greenspaces.

“As Mayor, I will work to restrict the sale of city parks. We must preserve Calgary’s pristine green spaces for generations to come,” Jeromy said.

“The recent sale of Richmond Green Park for future development drew outrage from users and stewards of the regional park, and rightly so. Calgarians deserve better than a mayor or council that puts profit ahead of our parks.”

Jeromy has continued to advocate on behalf of the area community associations and the many other Calgarians who are pushing back. There is still a chance that this short-sighted decision can be reversed.

“The other councillors running for mayor voted to sell off green space and ball diamonds at Richmond Green Park, and they must be held accountable. It’s time to send a message that our parks are not for sale,” Jeromy concluded.
