Jeromy Farkas Launches Petition Demanding Jyoti Gondek Release Her Donor List
Raises concerns as mayor continues fundraising while voting on major City decisions
Mayoral candidate Jeromy Farkas has launched a public petition calling on Mayor Jyoti Gondek to immediately release her 2025 campaign donor list.
Jeromy is currently the only candidate in the race disclosing his 2025 donors. His list is publicly available and updated regularly at www.jeromy.ca/donate.
“If you’re fundraising while voting on billion-dollar deals, the public has a right to know who’s backing you,” said Jeromy. “At a time when backroom deals, political parties, and special interests are creeping into municipal politics, voters deserve to know who is funding their current (and future) mayor. By voluntarily releasing and regularly updating my donor list in full, I am showing my commitment to open and honest leadership.”
While Mayor Gondek met the bare minimum legal requirement by publishing her 2024 donor list, she has not released any donor names from 2025—despite actively fundraising since January 1.
“This information should be available today, not months after an election,” said Jeromy. “Right now, incumbent candidates are asking for donations for their campaigns while simultaneously voting on things like a billion-dollar arena, the private development of parks, and deciding who gets lucrative City contracts. Proactive disclosure makes Calgarians more confident that their elected officials aren’t making backroom deals or decisions influenced by donor cash.”
Jeromy says that the lack of transparency from the mayor and other incumbent candidates leaves Calgarians with questions, especially when big decisions are on the table.
“The petition is one way Calgarians can send a clear message: if you want to lead this city, show us who’s backing you—now, not after the fact.”
The petition is now live at ShowUsTheList.ca, giving Calgarians the chance to demand real-time donor disclosure, not delayed reports after the votes are counted.
